NBA Franchise’s Worst Four

A lot was made of the unveiling of the Franchise Four at the MLB All-Star Game showing the best four players for every franchise. The excitement behind that has led to similar lists popping up for other sports.

I’m here to flip that on its ear and give you the worst four for every NBA Franchise of the modern era. From draft busts, bloated free agent signings, botched trades or infamous scandals on and off the court I give you the worst four players for every NBA team from the mid 80’s to present.

Atlanta Hawks
Jon Koncak, Marvin Williams, Sheldon Williams, Josh Smith
#NeverForget in 1989 Koncak made more dough than MJ, Magic and Bird

Boston Celtics
Eric Montross, Alaa Abdelnaby, Acie Earl, Chris Mihm
#NeverForget the greatness that was Acie Earl’s flat top

Brooklyn/New Jersey Nets
Marcus Williams, Yinka Dare, Ed O’Bannon, Josh Boone
#NeverForget Yinka with 4 big assists in his entire four year career

Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets/Bobcats/Pelicans
Lance Stephenson, Vlade Divac, Sean May, Adam Morrison
#NeverForget MJ was responsible for three of these four and indirectly on the fourth, he belongs in Charlotte

Chicago Bulls
Eddie Robinson, Ron Mercer, Marcus Fizer, Marquis Teague
#NeverForget The post 98 Jordan Bulls were miserable to watch and proved that organizations don’t win championships alone

Cleveland Cavaliers
DeSagna Diop, Luke Jackson, Trajan Langdon, DaJuan Wagner
Now you see why the city of Cleveland was so hype to get LeBron

Dallas Mavericks
Roy Tarpley, Cherokee Parks, Raef LaFrentz, Evan Eschmeyer
I never understood what teams saw in LaFrentz besides his height and the fact that he played for Roy Williams in college

Denver Nuggets
Nikoloz Tskitishvili, Raef LaFrentz, Linas Kleiza, Julius Hodge
#NeverForget that the Nuggets will still tell you they won the Carmelo Anthony trade

Detroit Pistons
Darko Milicic, Kwame Brown, Josh Smith, Sean Elliott
#NeverForget that Joe Dumars chose Darko over Carmelo Anthony

Golden State Warriors
Joe Smith, Adonal Foyle, Derek Fisher, Mike Dunleavy
#NeverForget Jerry Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallce and KG all went after Smith was picked first in 1995
